Peter Butler

Pete was one of clutch of young players who joined OFC at the beginning of last season. With the significant change in personnel and much of the old guard calling time on their playing careers at the end of season 06/07, Pete was one of many of the young guns who were thrown straight in to the starting 11 from the start of last season. Since joining the club Pete has moved from right midfield to the centre of midfield and now few would argue that Pete is probably the most naturally talented and most consistent player in the squad; He has strike rate of a goal every 2 games from central midfield, can beat a player/ many players, pick a pass and is usually the provider of at least one assist per game. Off the pitch, Pete seems to be the quietest of this and last years clutch of youngsters, but that may be something to do with him wanting to avoid talking about the subject of what happened before he went out for his 18th birthday earlier this year.

Below is a small insight into the man pulls the strings from the centre of the OFC midfield..

Position Centre Midfield
Date of Birth 7th November 1990
Alias Butterz
Previous Teams Elmbridge, Molesey
Drink of Choice FostersFoster
Supports The Mighty Fulham
Most Likely to Say "You prick!!"
Occupation Trainee Plumber
Tell us a bit about yourself Pete...

I recently turned 18 in a rather eventful way thanks to a certain Tom Pryce and I think the whole club has now seen the evidence from this night. I live in Walton-on-Thames and have done my whole life, I spent last year at Esher College and realized it wasn’t for me, I’m now doing a plumbing course in Chessington.

One fascinating fact about yourself that everyone should know....

I'm actually 6ft tall

Tell us about the journey that resulted in you joining OFC?

I remember Phil telling me about joining Oatlands when I finished school while we were on a year 10 Geography trip to Norfolk and so I listened and ended up joining with Steve Clarke and Fraser

Who is you football idol and why?

Well I would have to say when I was younger and still playing 7 aside it would have had to be David Beckham when he was playing for United, but when I changed to 11 aside I started to admire Paul Scholes style of play.

If you were a super hero, what would be your name and what would be your powers?

It would have to be Butterz - Lady magnet.

I see you have a strike rate of nearly 1 goal every 2 games from the centre of midfield, got a favourite goal?

It’s going to have to be the goal I scored couple weeks ago in the cup, as I can safely say to Ross that it didn’t bounce once that time.

Greatest moment in an OFC shirt?

Tough one, it would have to be either scoring my favourite goal in an Oatlands shirt the other week or walking out for the Cup Final last year.

When your not wearing the OFC shirt, where are we likely to find you?

Most probably sitting on a lonely chair with an Eastern European, middle aged, naked women on my lap, Once again thanks Tom

Which professional footballer do you compare yourself to and why?

I would like to compare my style of play to Jimmy Bullard as we both play in similar roles, and when seeing him clubbing a couple weeks ago I think he enjoys a good drink just as much as I do

Is there a particular tune that you would listen to prior to kickoff in order to motivate yourself?

It would have to be whatever shocking musicGravy has on the beatbox

Anything you would like to add that I may have left out?

No, I believe everything has been covered
